EASY CHECKOUT GUIDE

Best practice on how to implement Easy and how to place the checkout on your website

Description of implementation options

Depending on the merchant business vertical, the consumer journey varies a lot.  For example, some merchants offer consumers the opportunity to have a profile on their web shop and others do not. Furthermore, the integration needed also depends on what the merchant are selling, as if a merchant is selling physical goods, like clothing, shoes, snus etc. the merchants needs to collect the address of the customer for shipping purposes. However, if the merchants are selling digital goods, like online magazines, streaming services, memberships etc. the merchant does not need to collect the address as nothing is shipped. Finally, some merchants are selling their goods or services through both a web shop and app, which also needs a special integration option to ease the integration work needed.

In order to serve all these merchant cases Easy has the following integration options;

  • The full Easy Checkout
  • Payment methods on file
  • Digital goods/ services checkout
  • Mobile SDK

The Full Easy Checkout

The full Easy checkout is the perfect solution for merchants that sells physical goods (Everything that goes in a box) and do not offer customers to create a profile on their web shop. There are many different reasons why a merchant would not choose to have this option for customers, like increased GDPR scope, lacking CRM system, does not have the resources etc.

The full Easy checkout offers merchants to;

  • Offer new customers “remember me” functionality
  • Payment methods on file for returning customers
  • ‘One-click payments’ for returning customers
  • The ability to customize their checkout to fit with their web shop theme
  • The option of either a embedded checkout or a hosted pay page checkout (re-direct)

Full Checkout UX

How to implement the embedded view vs. the hosted pay page (re-direct)

If the merchant is using a shop system, like Shopify, WooCommerce, Magento 2, etc, they can choose to have a embedded or a hosted pay page view in their respective web shop administration, please to the 12- Open-source plug-in's for instructions on how.

If the merchant is doing their own integration, they need to go the Easy techsite and retrieve the payment API.   and edit the “integrationType” to either = EmbeddedCheckout or HostedPaymentPage

The Payment method on File Checkout

The payment method on file checkout is the perfect solution for merchants that sells physical goods (Everything that goes in a box) and customers to create a profile on their web shop.

The payment method on file checkout offers merchants to;

  • Offer new customers “remember me” functionality
  • Payment methods on file for returning customers
  • ‘One-click payments’ for returning customers, due to:
    • Card on file
    • Wallet on file
    • Invoice on file
    • Instalment on file
  • The ability to customize their checkout to fit with their web shop theme
  • The option of either a embedded checkout or a hosted pay page checkout (re-direct)

Payment Method on File Checkout UX

How to implement the Payment Method on File checkout

If the merchant is using a shop system, like Shopify, WooCommerce, Magento 2, etc, we have already made the shop plugin in the most seamless way. Therefore, merchants do not need to do anything.

If the merchant is doing their own integration, they need to go the Easy techsite and retrieve the payment API.

From here, the merchants first need to choose between the embedded or hosted payment page, edit the “integrationType” to either = EmbeddedCheckout or HostedPaymentPage. Hence, the merchants needs to set the “merchantsHandelsConsumerData” to = “true”

The Digital goods / services Checkout

The payment method on file checkout is the perfect solution for merchants that sells digital goods or services and enables customers to create a profile on their web shop.

  • Payment methods on file for returning customers
  • ‘One-click payments’ for returning customers, due to:
    • Card on file
    • Wallet on file
  • The ability to customize their checkout to fit with their web shop theme
  • The option of either a embedded checkout or a hosted pay page checkout (re-direct)

OBS! If merchants want to benefit from Easy being able to recognize the consumer, they need to send the consumer Email and ZIP code, enabling easy to do both cookies and do a look up. If Email and ZIP code is not send to Easy we will only be able to recognize the consumer based on cookies.
